Some weeks ago on our way back from Falsterbo we stopped in Malmö-Svågertorp and checked out the construction site of the new IKEA store Malmö. I have been to the ‘old’ store a few times and never found it old really bit the location was not a good one in regards of traffic and parking was inadequate, especially on weekends. So, a new store will be build and we (IKEA) have bought some property near the Öresund-bridge close to a growing commercial center at the railway station Svågertorp. This place has almost exploded since the bridge was built and it still is expanding.
So, here are some images of the new store. Looks nice already and some hundred metres away is a ILVA store, so competition will be interesting 😉

Needless to say, my former colleague shave already set up the server for the new store, always exciting. IKEA will do a lot of expansion, also in Sweden, and it feels like we are still financially strong in the current economic situation and plan for the long term as we used to do.
